Posing Guide for Photographing Women: 7 More Poses to Get You 21 Different Photos [Part II]

A post by Kaspars Grinvalds from Posing App . If you haven’t read the first article in this series, I would kindly recommend you to start with Posing Guide for Photographing Women: 7 Poses to Get You 21 Different Photos – Part I where we started with 7 standing poses. Let’s continue this time with 7 sitting poses for female subjects and their possible variations in order to get at least three different shots for each pose. Pose 1 Nice and simple pose to start with. Ask your model to sit comfortably with knees placed together. One hand relaxed on the knees while the other hand placed near the neck. And remind her to straighten the spine. Photo 1 – This basic starting point provides you with many different choices to continue with. But in the very beginning you may want to just test different shooting angles and heights and check what works best for your model. Photo 2 – After I got the first shot similar to the sample, I asked the model to lower both arms and rest them on the knee

Best monopod for DSLR photography: 6 top models tested and rated

Want support for your camera without lugging a tripod around? We put six sensibly priced monopods to the test to find out which is the best monopod for DSLR photography enthusiasts. Any decent tripod will give a stable shooting platform, but tripods are heavy, bulky and time-consuming to set up. With only one leg, monopods are more manageable. A greater number of leg sections enables a monopod to fold down smaller for carrying. The trade-off is that setup time is slightly longer if you need to extend all the sections, as there are more clamps to operate. Each clamp is also a potential weak point that can introduce unwanted flexing. Another factor to bear in mind is that the more leg sections you have, the thinner and more spindly the bottom sections will be. Monopods that feature tilting heads enable shooting in portrait orientation (upright) as well as in landscape orientation, so are far more versatile. If your chosen monopod is lacking this tilt facility, you may need to factor in

How to Use Your Phottix Odin Radio Flash Triggers

The popularity of radio for flash triggering reached a new level when triggers offering more than the “normal” flash sync opened new doors of experimentation to photographers. I’ll show you how to use the Phottix Odin, a product quickly gaining ground in the industry. Keep in mind that these instructions are adaptable to many other radio flash triggers. The Phottix Odin radio flash trigger offer TTL functions and advanced functions for photographers. Until recently there was only one popular name when it came to TTL (Through The Lens) radio flash triggers: Pocket Wizard. You would find other brands mentioned, such as Radio Popper, but in general terms Pocket Wizard was the way to go. It still is for many people, but since Eastern companies started to offer their cheap non-TTL solutions over eBay, the user demographics have expanded while we saw better and better systems appear on the market. Phottix is the evolution of this process. Radio Trigger Sync Speeds In terms of triggers, the
