73 photo locations to shoot before you die

73 photo locations to shoot before you die:
73 photo locations you must shoot before you die
Most people have a bucket list of things they’d like to do or accomplish before the inevitable that awaits us all. For photographers, this bucket list often translates as a list of places we’d like to visit with our cameras before it’s curtains for our shutter. After a lot of soul-searching, we put together below our list of the 73 best photo locations around the world that we’d like to shoot before we die.
We’ve broken our list of photo locations down by UK (because that’s where we’re from), then by America and Canada (because we love to visit you guys!), and then by continents and regions – otherwise we’d die at our desks before getting to actually see these places! And if you’d like some inspiration for your own travels, check out these 79 travel photography tips you shouldn’t leave home without.
Inevitably, a list like this will omit something obvious or include something you find questionable. If so, let us know! It’s by no means definitive. If you think we left someplace out, tell us in the comments!

The 73 best photo locations for your photography bucket list

UK

World's best photo locations: Bath, England
Bath

A World Heritage Site (and the home of Digital Camera World), Bath’s bustling town centre, sandstone facades, rolling hills and Pulteney Bridge will set shutters flying.
York

A stunningly preserved medieval town, you can get great pictures from the old city walls, the gardens outside York Minster or shoot street photos on the historic Rambles.
Lake District

Probably the most iconic landscape in Britain, and with good reason. Just don’t forget your waterproofs.
World's best photo locations: Peak District
Peak District

Stunning vistas and quaint villages are the main selling point of this natural wonder, and being not too far from the Lake District you could combine both visits into one photo holiday.
Dartmoor

The granite tors of the 954-square-kilometer Dartmoor National Park add drama to an already wild landscape, rich in antiquities, wildlife, rivers and bogs.
Jurassic Coast

Even if you have a passing interest in landscape photography we don’t need to tell you about the Jurassic Coast’s outstanding beauty. Its ancient landforms are worth a long exploration, and along your way we recommend Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and the Isle of Portland.
World's best photo locations: Cornwall
Cornwall, Zennor to St Ives

Cornwall offers outstanding views just about any time you pivot your neck, but follow the clearly marked path from St Ives about 6 miles to the village of Zennor and you’ll step through ancient stone circles, fields of lavender and over cliffs looking down on basking seals and dolphins. Finish with a pint of local ale.
Kilchurn Castle, Lochawe, Argyll, Scotland

You’ll have seen this ruined 15th century castle in the middle or background of many landscape images, and for good reason: it’s an amazing scene. Sitting on a peninsula in Loch Awe, it has decayed gracefully and when the water levels are low you can get closer for even more interesting compositions.

Alternativas a Cuevana 1. Moviezet Posiblemente el mejor clon d...

Learn Composition from the Photography of Henri Cartier-Bresson

“Do you see it?” This question is a photographic mantra. Myron Barnstone , my mentor, repeats this question every day with the hopes that we do “see it.” This obvious question reminds me that even though I have seen Cartier-Bresson’s prints and read his books, there are major parts of his work which remain hidden from public view. Beneath the surface of perfectly timed snap shots is a design sensibility that is rarely challenged by contemporary photographers. Henri Cartier-Bresson. © Martine Franck Words To Know 1:1.5 Ratio: The 35mm negative measures 36mm x 24mm. Mathematically it can be reduced to a 3:2 ratio. Reduced even further it will be referred to as the 1:1.5 Ratio or the 1.5 Rectangle. Eyes: The frame of an image is created by two vertical lines and two horizontal lines. The intersection of these lines is called an eye. The four corners of a negative can be called the “eyes.” This is extremely important because the diagonals connecting these lines will form the breakdown ...
